Spring
Okay, so. Spring is when the locals go... a little crazy. The winter rains taper off, the cherry blossoms burst, powder blue sky reveals itself, and everyone – everyone – comes out…
We wait all year for this.
The months of rain and grey skies clear in the spring. And by the time it hits summer? Glorious! The PNW is in full splendor.
When you visit during the long days expect to do it all: hiking, kayaking, bicycling, or whatever it is that sparks your joy. Could be chilling by the sea with an IPA. Could be fine dining in the city.
Seriously. The summer trees are much greener than you’d expect. The water sparkles brighter. It’s an enchanted season. You’ve got to roam through the summer carefree and wild to believe it.
We've collected top itineraries and experiences to guide you through the season.
Jetty Island. Hiking in the Cascades. Walking down main street in Snohomish. Catching any of several farmers markets. Live music at the Port of Everett. Driving the Mountain Loop Highway. All the festivals and events.
Hint: it’s always about ten degrees cooler near the water. Same with the forest. If you’re in an urban zone you can always grab an iced coffee. Most modern parks have splash pads for kids. Malls and movie theaters have air conditioning.
Definitely beaches and pools. No water parks. Do a basic Google search. Odds are you’re ten minutes from water at all times in Snohomish County.
For music, check out Fisherman’s Village Music Festival, Festival of the River, Music at the Marina, Summer Meltdown, or Rock the Boat. Best bets for outdoor festivals include the Everett 3 on 3 Tournament, Left Coast Beer Festival, Kla Ha Ya Days, and the Evergreen State Fair.
If we told you then it wouldn’t be a secret! But seriously, it’s a big county. With 2,000 square miles to explore it is possible to get away from it all. If you’re really interested in avoiding people, steer clear of downtown environments – there are festivals aplenty during the summer.

Fall
