Summer
We wait all year for this. The months of rain and grey skies clear in the spring. And by the time it hits summer? Glorious! The PNW is in full splendor. When…
Okay, so. Spring is when the locals go... a little crazy.
The winter rains taper off, the cherry blossoms burst, powder blue sky reveals itself, and everyone – everyone
– comes out of hibernation to greet the fair weather.
Visit Snohomish County in the spring and you’ll see why. Zip your bike through the vernal colors: the electric grass of the shoreline, the aquamarine of baseball uniforms, the azure of mountains, the gold of IPAs, the taffy pink of cherry blossoms. Did we mention the cherry blossoms?
Winter rains have created a lush landscape upon which to frolic, like hyperactive children around a maypole. Get in on the seasonal mania. Spring yourself right into Snohomish County.
We've collected top itineraries and experiences to guide you through the season.
Sorticulture. Fresh Paint. Fisherman’s Village Music Festival. Art Walks in Edmonds (home of the first designated Creative District in Washington State). Check out the murals in Downtown Everett. Rip-roar on out to the Sky Valley Motorcycle Show.
Farmhouse Flowers in Stanwood. The flower farms of Tualco Valley. Any number of farmers markets.
The weather could be anything in spring. “Mercurial” is the word. Typically, the weather is part cloudy, part sunny. Big fluffy cumulonimbus clouds. Intermittent light showers. Brilliant sunbeams. Wearing light layers and a waterproof jacket is recommended.
If it’s farm to table dining you seek, check out the following. Roger’s Riverview Bistro in Snohomish. Lewis and Main in Monroe. Capers + Olives in Everett. Anthony’s Homeport on the Everett Waterfront.
Definitely. Whale watching season is on from late March through May. Rent a kayak. Walk the Centennial Trail. Wherever you go, do so in good humor. The occasional crazy downpour is part of the adventure.
