Coastal Cool

We’re a briny, sea-loving folk. Our maritime culture tastes like fresh lobster rolls, sizzling crab cakes, and raw oysters that taste like the tides. Whale watching is a popular pastime, either by boat or from the shore. Toss a crab pot from your skiff. Admire islands from the ferries. Find a seat on driftwood for a lazy afternoon of reading. Act like a local because it’s time to make the most of the coast.

When it comes to protecting the outdoors, we walk the talk. Because we must. As stewards of 2,000 square miles of natural grandeur, we tread lightly. Hike the Mountain Loop Highway or one of the hundreds of trails that can be found along Highway 2. Aviation Heritage & Aerial Thrills

Our county is home to a little airplane company called Boeing. You’ve heard of it? A passion for aerospace is baked into our genes. The Flying Heritage Combat Armor Museum offers two hangars of meticulously restored vintage aircraft and battle machinery. Tour the Boeing Plant (the largest building in the world by volume). Skydive from 30,000 feet over Harvey Field or soar in a hot air balloon above the farmlands of Snohomish. Let your imagination take flight in Snohomish County.

Vintage Finds, Boho Vibes in Downtown Snohomish

Downtown Snohomish, Washington is a self-contained day trip deluxe. Formerly known as the “Antique Capital of the Pacific Northwest,” Snohomish retains its vintage charm and historic downtown, while offering a newer vibe: boho boutiques, hip eateries, a seasonal farmers market, and craft breweries. After a day of dining and shopping, get outside by strolling the riverside path, biking the Centennial Trail, or hiking Lord Hill. You’ll be a true-believing “Snohomie” convert in no time!
