Howard Miller Steelhead Park
Howard Miller was born in Skagit County, and in his adult years, served as a Skagit County Commissioner for 16 years. In 1966, Howard Miller was responsible for the first purchase of land (15 acres) that included 39 campsites; complete with electrical hook ups for RV’s, tent sites, a picnic shelter, and a restroom. On December 2,1982 the park officially dedicated Howard Miller Steelhead Park. [HMSP]. The land was obtained from Burlington Northern Railroad, Seattle City Light, and private sources.
