Best Pie Shops in Snohomish County
Join us for a “tour de pie” exploration of the diners, restaurants, bars, bakeries, and even home bakeries that serve some of the best pies in Snohomish County.
Do you prefer your pie sweet or savory? Filled with cream, fruit, custard, or some other delectable flavors? When it comes to pie, there’s a deluge of options to tickle your tastebuds. Whether you’re celebrating the mathematical constant of 3.14... associated with Pi Day or just want to indulge in what is arguably America’s favorite dessert, there’s always room in your belly for a slice…or two.
Speaking of which, one of our staff writers pie-charted an adventure to survey the Snohomish County pie scene. Equipped with his trusty fork, a favorite handkerchief, and an insatiable hunger, he set out to eat his weight in pie (and considering he is often mistaken for a Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman, this was no small task!) all in the name of discovering the best of the best within 2,000 square miles of county lines. Enjoy!

Snohomish Pie Company
915 1st Street in Snohomish, WA
5602 232nd Street Southwest in Mountlake Terrace, WA
Our pie pick: Apple berry crumb
To anyone who knows pie in this region, it’s no surprise that Snohomish Pie Company is on this list. With a variety of mouth-watering pies made from scratch daily at both locations, this popular shop etched its way into the pantheon of Snohomish County pies ever since it first began baking in 1996.
Known for its signature flaky pie crusts, it’s not uncommon for all the shop’s baked goods to sell out on any given day. The apple and apple berry pies with the buttery crumb topping are worth the trip alone. As are the tasty PIEscream sundaes and pie shakes that transform any of their pies into a yummy sundae or a shake.
The pies at Snohomish Pie Company are so good that if you’re anything like us, you’ll find an excuse to end up in Snohomish or Mountlake Terrace just for a taste. @snohomishpieco

Pie Dive Bar
921 1st Street in Snohomish, WA
201 Croft Avenue in Gold Bar, WA
Our pie pick: Humble crumble (Food Network award winner)
Gone are the days of pairing your favorite pie with a tall glass of milk. Pie Dive Bar cuts the crust off typical pie culture by making it an experience that you can make an afternoon of—and one that could easily slip into a magical evening full of pie and booze.
Before diving into your multiple-course meal consisting of mostly pie (and an amazing beet side salad), we suggest building the hunger with a craft cocktail or a pint of locally brewed beer. While you certainly don’t need any alcohol to enjoy a slice of sweet pie or savory pot pie made by the bar’s owner, an award-winning Food Network pie maker, it’s part of the experience. Either way, you won’t be disappointed when that savory pie hits your mouth. The shepherd’s pot pie is divine.
Now that you’ve had a “main,” you’re ready for a slice of the sweet, all of which look equally amazing. While an award-winning apple berry pie piques your curiosity, it’s tough to pass on a slice of strawberry rhubarb. It hits the spot. On second thought, live a little and get a slice of the apple berry to go. It’s too good not to.
Finally, you cap it all off with another libation. The two slices of homemade pie flanked by craft drinks is a game-changer. @thepiedivebar

Sky River Bakery
117 West Main in Monroe, WA
Our pie pick: Marionberry
As the pride of Monroe’s historic downtown district, Sky River Bakery is known for its inspired custom cakes and daily menu featuring an array of fresh-from-scratch baked goods that have been consistently flying off the baking racks since 1987.
So how good are the cakes and other baked items at Sky River? In 2024, the bakery took home the gold for best bakery in The Seattle Times’ “Best in the PNW” people’s choice award. All this, and we have yet to even talk about their pies.
Speaking of gold, like an Olympic athlete who medals in multiple events while having only one best event, Sky River may be known for its cakes, but it also bakes some of the tastiest pies this side of Cascades, and it’s not even their “bread and butter.”
Sky River’s made-to-order pies use only the freshest ingredients, including berries plucked right from the vine. The marionberry pie is a local favorite. @skyriverbakery

The Stilly Diner
223 North Olympic Avenue in Arlington, WA
Our pie pick: Pecan
If you find yourself among the lush, rolling landscapes or scenic byway that run through the Stillaguamish Valley, do yourself a favor and make a stop at the Stilly Diner in Arlington. This seemingly typical American diner is anything but ordinary when it comes to pie.
What’s their secret? The diner sources its handmade desserts directly from Hammond Bread Company, a local family-owned, small-batch home bakery. After one bite of this buttery, flaky treat, you’ll understand why Stilly leaves its pie making to the Hammond family. @thestillydiner

The New Mexicans
1416 Hewitt Avenue in Everett, WA
Our pie pick: Oreo chocolate cream
The daily lineup features an assortment of cream pies like Reese’s chocolate peanut butter, coconut, and banana. While these are crowd favorites, it’s the signature seasonal pies—such as pumpkin and pecan—that move faster than the speed of light. Catch one before they’re gone. @thenewmexicans

Rumbly in My Tumbly Pie Company
302 172nd Street Southwest in Lynnwood, WA
Our pie pick: Lemon blueberry cream
There’s no denying that baking a pie takes skill. But let’s be honest. If you want to share your homemade creations with the world, you best come correct. Not only has Rumbly in My Tumbly done the work of perfecting a variety of hand-crafted fruit, chocolate, seasonal, and cream pies, this one-woman outfit that operates from her Lynnwood, WA home has amassed a cult following. And it didn’t take long for the rest of the world to notice.
To further Rumbly’s appeal, this small but mighty bakery was declared winner of the best dessert in Western Washington as voted by viewers of lifestyle television program King 5 Evening. But we can attest that the pies live up to the hype.
Rumbly’s made-to-order pie calendar fills up rather quickly, so if you’re planning to make the trek to the cottage that lies within an unassuming residential area of Lynnwood, you should plan accordingly. @rumblytumblypieco
